No Ordinary Weekend

Our weekends are ordinarily spent riding bikes, playing on baseball fields and adventuring around Atlanta. However, once a year we make an effort, along with nearly a half-million others, to hit up downtown Atlanta for a day of football, concerts, playing in the park and not to be missed… the sights of Dragon Con.

Dragon Con gets me double checking to make sure my camera battery is fully loaded.  I kid you not!

Dragon Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe! Not something we’re into or even fully understand, but we would readily admit that it’s some of the best people watching on the planet and respect the artistry and creativity that goes into these costumes.

2011 Dragon Con did not disappoint, nor did our afternoon in Centennial Olympic Park enjoying lunch, playing Frisbee (or wearing it on our head – see image of Cooper) and tossing around the baseball and football.

In case you weren’t one of the 500,000 people in downtown Atlanta this weekend taking in the sights and playing in the park, here’s what you missed.
