Sunday Dinner

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, especially on the weekends. Call me a short order cook. If asked, I’ll cook my family anything they ask for and often spend hours on end prepping, cooking and cleaning to only repeat it again and again until we tuck the wee ones in bed at night.

Don’t get me wrong, I love it. I really do. Anyone who has visited and spent time in our house will tell you that I love to cook. I especially love to cook for my family and friends. I love being in the kitchen with a controlled chaotic mess, friends and family sitting at the counter, laughing, telling stories, drinking wine and of course eating. I love the informality of it all and I love how happy everyone is.

At least once a week, we have home-made pizza. Fresh, home-made dough for which no written recipe exists and made to order pies for everyone. Tonight was this weeks pizza night.

While the boys ate their made to order pies, giggled and danced a little, Harper bounced away and giggled in her bouncy chair on the kitchen floor. Paul goofed around with the kiddos as he always does, cooked up a cauliflower gratin and we both enjoyed our own savory and I might add, tasty pizza pies. It was the perfect Sunday dinner.

A great way to enjoy and celebrate a Sunday night masquerading as a Saturday night over a much needed four day weekend!
