The all in one, random assault post about the goings on in our lives. In other words, I haven’t had a moment to sit and write real posts lately so you’re stuck with the leftover mess in my head.
Nevertheless, there have been some entertaining moments.
Our tree is up, the halls are decked and we even have an elf this year. Half of America has an elf, but it’s new in our house this year.
The boys couldn’t agree on a name, let alone the damn elf’s gender, so we have a resident elf with two names and two genders.
Clearly our elf is very special, which is why it’s living with us. Oh the drama. Billy-Cutie Pie, our happy elf, has a hyphenated name for the sake of peace.
I’ll leave it up to you all to decide which of my hell raisers picked which half of the name.
Knee deep in laundry the other day, one little guy came running out of the bathroom with hands dripping wet and freaking out.
Mommy!!!!! Where’s the NICE towel? It’s missing!!!!
(whispering) I can’t use the naughty towel! I wasn’t naughty!
I reassured him that all was well with the world. While the Nice towel was in the wash, no one would be the wiser if he used the Naughty towel.
We enjoyed a great Saturday downtown Atlanta last week. We took in ESPN College Game Day live in Centennial Olympic Park, all my boys tossed around the football and we took in the Christmas parade.
Before we saw these:
I filmed this:
Vodpod videos no longer available.
One broken finger and a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. And for the record… I didn’t know when I laughed in the video that he was hurt. I laughed because he fell. It was funny. He would have laughed at me too.
If you’re in the Atlanta area and looking for a charity to support, this is a great charitable cause. Regardless of where you live I encourage you to take a moment and consider giving back to your local community and supporting those less fortunate. Buying Christmas presents for another family or a group of children who’d otherwise not have anything on Christmas day, is an important family tradition. Frankly, I enjoy these purchases more than I do the purchases for my own children.
There’s something about the “wants vs. needs” that leaves all of us really feeling the spirit of the holiday.
I’m tired. I ran today. Yes, I’m still training for that half marathon which means that I must still be nuts.
So, I’m off to re-locate Billy-Cutie Pie to a new location, clean up the kitchen, water the Christmas tree, pack lunches, set out school uniforms, finally take a shower from that run I squeezed in between Christmas shopping, carpools and football practice and after one last check on the kiddos, you’ll find me on the couch with three dogs sipping on a glass of wine as I wait for Paul to return from a business trip.
Happy Holidays and yes, it is snowing on my blog.
